It is NOT COMPULSORY to upgrade to Windows 10. If you think it is, then I'm sorry I'm not trying to be nasty, but you don't understand the process entirely.
It's also not a ploy to sell, sell, sell as has been said above. If it were, it wouldn't be free. What they're doing, is trying to get as many people onto a single platform as possible? Why? Because it allows for far superior support and bug fixing. Gone are the days of service pack releases as we know them.
Apple have been doing it for years! A single platform. Version upgrades aren't compulsory either. But everyone is using the same platform.
That is correct it is not compulsory, however once the installer is loaded you don't have the option to remove it. MS are not upfront about the win10 upgrade because it was uploaded via the critical updates system which they recommend is set to automatic and wasn't even labelled as a OS upgrade which clearly indicates it was deceitful.
Fact is what MS are doing is considered SPAM here in NZ and as such would be illegal.
So do you understand everything that win 10 does, are you sure you are preventing it from uploading any data/info back to MS?
MS doesn't do anything unless it stands to gain something, short term, long term do you truly know what they are up to?
