I was skimmed a while back when WA had a huge amount of people skimmed too, they sent me a text telling me to contact them, they had already canceled my card and were in the process of sending me another. I lost $800 and within 4 days that money was back in my account. You cant be made liable, its the banks job to make sure this is avoided, not yours.

Getting angry is not the way to resolve this. You need to contact your bank again to determine exactly why they will not refund you. Once you have that information, my next step would be to write to the Bank Manager and ask him or her to provide an explanation.

If you still get no joy, maybe contact the Office of Fair trading. There are links on the page I provided in my OP.

Everything you say and do, the people you speak to including times and dates, must be recorded by you. No point ringing and doing your nut over the phone at someone and then a week later if you do officially report it you can't remember who you spoke to or when etc.

Ive had my visa debit for a couple years now, always used online ect...
But luckily ive never had a problem with it.

There was a big scam in Perth not long ago with ATMs out side of shops.

So I don't use ATMs that are outside anymore, I either go into the bank or use ones in shops. But then I try to keep minimal money in my main account.

I had 3k withdrawn from my visa debt account, I was told it had the same daily limit as my eftpos card ($900) thankfully I found out it was company I hired a car from, the guy put in an extra 0 so $375 ended up as $3750, strange thing was it overdrew on my account balance..... didnt think you could do that with a debit card????

thanks for the replies guys, i know 400 isnt much compared to what some people have lost, but considering that i didnt have much more then that in there really makes me pissed, anyway i do hope i get it back, woulod the cops be able to do anything? or is it just the banks job to look into it, cause i want these assholes found and punished.

just seen the bank they are activating my banks now but need to wait for my pin number and card, i have put in a claim for the refund so we shall see what happens

went to fair trading today told them what happened, they will be getting back to me in the next few days
