Dim low beam headlights - are driving lights/daytime running lights a solution? Is there a solution?

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Can people hear them, though? Do you come whistling down the road?
They sound like a giant cricket. Or you might liken them to hints of that electric fence repetitive zap sound.

Have you checked the voltage at the lights? Various Commodores we have had had crap lights. VK was worst. Just upgraded my VN Calais, bigger wires from the main fuses, through the relays to the bulbs. Factory did a really crap job, 5 @ 14(?)awg wires crimped to 1@ 14awg wire for power distribution and the earths! Most have gone from9.5v to over 12v with lights on, day and night difference on the road and no need for expensive bulbs.
