The board mainly does the opening and closing bit. The transponder is not a part of that. It’s embedded into the plastic shell. A small flat rectangle it has to be carefully cut out.
It communicates with the key reader which is located behind the column shroud. It has to come really close to it for it to work.
ok, i swapped that bit out so i'll test it shortly after work.
Thanks in advance though!!

I did a swap for another JC's Member that lived in Perth
He posted the Non Flip Key over, and the new Flip Key Shell,
Transfer the Remote Board, the RFI Chip and the Key Blade,

Sent it back to the member in his self addressed post pack.,
and the rest is history ;)

This is where the RFI Chip is located in the Non Flip Key head,
Its usually stuck in/imbedded with a resin,
So extra care is required to cut the surrounding plastic around it.
When you remove it and place it in the new shell,
just place a dab of silicon on it, and that will suffice to hold it in place.

No,
Sorry it wont FU,
I also wondered about that Youtube Clip.
Keeping in mind, it is a Pontiac/Chev, and they do things differently in the US
There is only the 2 ways,
with the Supercheap unit, [not sure how good that are]
Or
with a Tech2 or Autel, or another brand,
funny you ask this,
because last night I needed to replace a faulty transmitter in one of my Keys that was a Non Flip,
where I turned a Non Flip Key into a Flip Key, as I purchase a complete Flip Key from eBay
I erased all my Keys for my VE, and wanted to reprogrammed all 4 of them back in,
I tried with the Tech2 I have, but it didn't want to work correctly, as I need a code from the software that came with it,
So I used my Autel Unit,
There is 2 separate stages for the VE Keys,
Stage 1 is for the Immobiliser
Stage 2 is for the Remote lock and unlock
And the 2 stages have to be done separately.
If you were in Melb, I would gladly program it in for you.
Hey Mate, bit of a throw back for you. Any ideas on a cheap OBD tool for a VE. Trying to change the keys over but need a tool for the immobilizer, only ones i can find are a few $1000.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Scan tools with those functions are not cheap. $700-$1000+ is it.

I format my own transponders "GM Circle +" and do the keys in tech2win. I have even bought a key off Aliexpress with their $5 cutting fee and sent a photo of the key and 16 days later it showed up in the mail and key fit and worked perfectly and then just format the transponder that came with it and program. Good looking flip key for $36AU delivered.

Do you have the blades cut ?
If so, the key heads will need to be programming into the BCM,
and then the RFA,
As mentioned in the Video, need to be programmed in separately, to 2 different systems/areas,
And they should work,
I recently did one for a JC Member as he only had 1 key.

Where as the system Deletes all existing keys, inc old ones that you no longer have, which is a good thing so the PO, or any one else with a key can not steel the car.

This way it programs in the ones on hand, so you need all the keys to program them back in,
It creates a Master Key, and the rest are Slave Keys,
To tell which is a master key,
The Reverse lights flash when unlocking the car,
Whereas, the slave key only flash the indicators..

I can do this @ $40 a key,
It might sound a bit steep,
But Programming tools are not a cheap tool to purchase..

Anyone know if this works with Aussie VE’s?

Once you have a new key with transponder already in it and board/battery, would this be possible.

No,
it’s a bit more regulated/different in Aus.
Key Programming is not in the Onboard menu,
GMH wanted to make some more money from the customers.

On the other hand
You can try a MAP programmer for $60 > $80, as they can not guarantee it will work,
Or ring a Locksmith and get a quote,

Don’t take my word for it !,
Read the reviews of them.
