The Lumina was just an optioned Executive at a typical saving around $3500, regardless of model. Air, auto, power windows and rear spoiler for sedans, with alloys from a higher spec earlier model. The VY 1 in the ad above has VX "S" wheels. I think later Luminas had VX Calais rims on VY2 and VY2 Calais rims on VZ. They were all good value as they offered the options that most Exec buyers requested.
As each new base model was released, the standard equipment levels rose, so each new Lumina had additional options such as cruise or upgraded sound. It got harder to equip the Lumina by the VZ due to the higher standard spec.
