My original Bearing and rubber lasted perhaps 150000 plus km.
VS series 2 , 6 cylinder , auto , live / beam rear axle
Had the mechanic replace it and all OK for a few thousand Kilometres.
Then failed and fixed under warranty.
Now the second replacement is failing. I can hear that the tail shaft is thumping around and the rubber must be flogged out .
Thinking about replacing it myself this time!
But what has gone wrong?
How can this replacement have such a short life?
A few percent of that of the original.
Is this an installation problem , if so how?
Quality of part? How to find a better one?
An issue with the vehicle? If so what and How?

Two reasons these fail, aftermarket bearing and damaged shaft from it smacking around when bearing lets go. Answer is rebuild new SH shaft and use Gen bearing.

The main culprit here is good old CCP parts. Nearly every part on the aftermarket these days has the mark of the beast, CE for China Export.

CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area. The CE marking is also found on products sold outside the EEA that have been manufactured to EEA standards.
