Fan mounting in boot to cool amps, advice please

You could get one of those fancy ass fold open backwards boots and raise it a bit on hot days LOL, or do what the drift boys do to their bonnets and put spacers under where the bracket/arm mounts to the boot and have a gap their but I think thats a bit extreme.

that amp looks like it has heatsink fins along each side, just pointing a fan in its general direction wont do alot.

what you wanna do is place a fan at 1 end of the amp blowing across the heatsink, as the heatsink draws the heat away from the amp you want the fans to blow the heat off the heatsink.

new high end CPU coolers for computers work like this, blowing across the surface is more effective than blowing onto the surface.

due to the ambiant temp in the boot youll want a high CFM fan to make any real differance.

if your still experiancing excessive heat after doing something like that, youll need to look at mounting additional heatsinks to the top off the amp.

has anyone suggested running a hose from the say the back aircon vent and feeding it directly into the amp. Cold air over the amp would be the cheapest and easiest way to cool the amplifier.
