It's been a while (I ran a remote filter on my old VN), but.....

From the bottom fitting (or out) on the block you need to go to the outside fitting (or in) on the filter housing. From the center (or out) of the filter housing you need to go to the center (or in) of the oil block. Oil goes into the filter around the outer edge and then flows back into the engine from the center.

Maybe leave it for a bit, watch a movie, read a book (to clear your mind) and get back to it later or tomorrow and suddenly things might seem clearer.

edit: On my old VN I ran the oil pressure gauge sender from the remote oil filter housing as there was way more room there.

This was my old set up.
remote-oil-filter-setup-002-jpg.39978

Unfortunately impossible to see the hose routing into the original filter adapter location.

I'm also fairly damn certain the first time I plumbed it up I got the hoses backwards on the adapter fitting on the extension housing. I also got paranoid and double hose clamped all the fittings IIRC. Never lost though.

Double edit: I still have all this ****, should fit it on my VT....

So I'm going
top port off the BBG block, labelled 'out'
to the bottom port on the aeroflow remote filter and thermostat, which is labelled 'out of engine'

Any suggestions before I crank it again.
I just about want to pull the 'oil in' hose off at the filter and poor some oil in there to try an make sure it gets some lube.

I'm not familiar with the oil filter block/thermostat bypass you are using but make sure the hose coming from the out fitting on the engine is going to the port that feeds the outside of the oil filter.

Pre-fill the filter also so it doesn't have to take time filling all that extra oil capacity.
