The battery/charger does not matter for this instance because you are not programming with vci, you are saving to usb.

It sounds like the vxdiag is not working properly with sps.

When you load into sps make sure you select the correct vehicle make, year and model.
Once you have it all loaded make sure the vin in the bottom righthand side of the window is correct and also try click ecu data on the righthand side and see if it contains information like the vin etc.
Clicking ecu data presents the same error.

Your vxdiag is not working with sps so you will not be able to program anything with it until you get working.

Any idea on what it could be and recommendations, should I try running it in a VM? Do you have a VMimage I could use if you do it in one?

I dont use a vm for it.
I did have intermittent issues using windows 7 and i found windows 10 seems to not have the same issues.
I would suspect it has something to do with the divers and required redist/netfx files for win7 to have an issue but not win10.

On both win 7 and 10 gds2 worked fine it was just sps i was having issues with.

Yeah I’m on windows 10 and gds2 has no problems whatsoever.

Maybe try reinstall the software with the latest from vxdiag

Also in VX Manager make sure you have these 3 installed

Okay got it working. Reinstalled everything from scratch and downloaded the latest vx manager.
What format does the USB have to be in? It’s not recognising it
