I’ve got all this leaked oil on the size of my engine and I’m not too sure where it’s coming from, I’ve attached a photo can someone tell me what it’s from and how to fix it? Or how to diagnose where it’s coming from

You need to clean it right up first, then look and see where it’s coming from.
This looks like it’s being going on for months or more perhaps?
Is that correct?

That’s a familiar one. Bottom left corner of the timing cover is where it’s coming from. I thought ours was the trans hoses there, but nope. It was engine oil.

It’s a semi big job and considering balancer needs to come off and the front cover, you may as well do the timing chains and oil pump while you’re at it.

I’ll bet my left nut that once that’s cleaned up, you’ll see oil dripping from the bottom corner and more of the oil appear again over coming weeks. It will escape while it’s running, not noticeable at idle.

Take a look at doing the PCV mod which will relieve a great deal of the crankcase pressure. It costs nothing to do other than your time and will relieve the engine of the pressure that builds up with the engine running.

If OP got RWC with this car just not long ago it should have been clean when purchased.

I’d clean mine and a few weeks later it’s building up again. Easy to clean it and have an inspector miss it because there would be anything to see for a time.

Degreaser and parts brush,

And another dose of degreaser,

Hose it down,

Check, clean PCV pipes,
and modify the PCV fitting as @Fu Manchu mentioned,

Then monitor it for a week

Possibly won't be as much oil leaking, as the Crankcase should be under vacuum,
Having said that, the front timing cover needs does need to be re-sealed correctly,
and CAM Actuator Seals to be replaced.

NB: As @Fu Manchu mentioned, a good time to do the chains and oil pump,
and give the hydraulic chain tensioner oil galleries a blast with compressed air.

I might do the all of them at the same time but I’ve gotta find the time to even do it all, I’ve looked at the pcv mod and I cleaned mine out but I don’t have the right sized drill bits but I need to get some to do it,
Thanks for that
