So I have my VK with stock 202. My mate had a 202 built for him for $5,000. He no longer wanted it so I purchased it. I ripped my tranny and everything out of my car and the engine was orginally going to be manual. It had the flywheel on and spun over by hand. There is no spark plugs in it. So I took of the flywheel and bolted on the flex plate with the humps going outwards for the Torque Converter to bolt onto and no the bolts were not to long and didn't hit the block. Then the crank will no longer turn over, I'm thinking what the #### and so after ages I could not turn it. I thought what a load and put flywheel back on, nope no spinning.
Put two bolts in the harmonic balancer and jammed a massive breaker bar in there and tried to turn it and all I did was snap the bolts. But I used a crow but against the guide points for the auto box and the teeth of the flex plates and it turns over sweet, just hard. WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!?!?!?!

which bolts did you use? the manual fly wheel bolts are longer than the auto bolts .
does it turn over with just the fly wheel on?

It's not entirely clear but you are saying that you can't turn the crank with a lever on the balancer but you can - just - turn it with the crow bar in the flex plate teeth?

Even on a tight, new engine you should be able to turn the crank much more easily than that. How long and how has the engine been stored since it was assembled? Was it stored without the 'plugs in it or did you remove them only when you couldn't turn the crank? Who assembled it? Has it been run since?

First up to spend $5000 on a Black 6! it must have the ants pants in regards to everything avail,so why in gods name when you couldnt turn it by hand did you resort to using a friggin crow bar on the front balancer to try and get it to turn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By what you have described its got all the symptoms of a broken crank.Have you checked and doubled checked that something foreign has,nt dropped in one of the plug holes and is locking it up when the piston comes around to TDC.
Remove everything youve done and get it to turn BY HAND and go from there, take youre time, check and double check after each procedure. Why did he get rid of the engine after spending such a large amount of $$$$.As cheap6 asked HAS IT BEEN RUN,was it assembled DRY without lube, then left in the corner of the shed for months on end,you need to find out all this info,so its points you in the right direction of where to start looking,as we can only go by what you tell us ,
Best of luck with it mate, sounds like a potent six if its got all the right gear that compliments each other,

Engine is about a month old. We ran it in for 20 minutes at 2,000RPM. It has straight cut timing gears. Stage 5 cam. Yella terra heads ported polished shaved. 60.oversized pistons flat tops lots of **** to reach approximately 250hp. It's supposed to be a skid car with an sc14 aupercharger and intercooler going on.

Took plugs out frim start. Everything was built correctly. All lube everything was used. Crap lots of questions and my phone doesn't show them.

Sounds bloody good mate;hope ya able to get it sorted sooner than rather.Bet sounds bloody mean and lumpy with the cam, best of luck champ, for the sake of a sump gasket might pay to drop the sump and have a gander to check crank and see it hasnt dropped a rod.Just out of interest can you wind the motor backwards or rock it back and forth or is it locked solid

Well as I was playing around with the motor again I decided to see if my "mate" was legit.

I took off the rocker covers and both heads had the same stamping and remembered that Yella Terra used to modify them so that was ok. But then I called Yella Terra and asked if I could identify a different. They said in the inlet port that they bassically drill it out between the two and make it one port instead and there is a tube just for the head bolt. Well guess what. Have a look......

I'm so over this car. Spent up to $18,000 for three painters to do a runner, one audio specialist to still $10,000 worth of audio gesr and destroy my interior. Had to regather interior now all different colors. One legitimate audio business charge me $4,000 on install of my own gear I bought..... with things wring with it. And now this. And all I have to show is a mismatched interior and discusting paintwork, at least 5 different colours and also an engine that's not even what it is.
