OZTRACK Tuning, Anyone used them for a SSV, or SS?

Just picked up my SSV on Friday last week and looking at some mods that can be done relatively quickly.

Been reading a few threads and it seems that Walkinshaw are overpriced, rebadged products with smaller gains, KPM have had some good reviews, Xforce hit and miss.

So my question is has anyone used Oztrack? whats your experience been?

This is what im looking at, I have the link in there as well for you to look at, not much info on the website.

Our full exhaust, Duspeed OTR and Tune on the dyno package is $3950.

This includes HPC coated 4 into 1s, metal cats and twin 2.5” or twin 3”. Duspeed OTR and dyno tune.

VE L98 345kw Bolt on power package (OZ345L98) by Oztrack Tuning - OZTRACK - VT-VE Specialists.

We have seen many of these cars make 270-280rwkw as Manuals. That’s like 350 engine kw.
Stock they are about 230rwkw

Thoughts??????

Cheers

I wouldn't rate the duspeed OTR personally. Give VCM a call and compare their products. Great bunch of guys and very proffessional outfit.

I use Oztrack and wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Made the 12 hours drive to penrith to have the work done and i'm rapt in the results. The otr in my opinion is the best one available but people are always going to have different opinions and i'm certainly not saying the others aren't any good, i just prefer his.

so whats your reasoning for this?

i had a duspeed otr on my old vy ss and it was great. the mark2 otr to fit ve/wm is getting great reviews and results. personally for my wm i will be getting the vcm otr only for looks as it is the most standard looking otr out there. if i wasnt going for a stealth look id go duspeed again in a heart beat.

end of the day there is many great shops in sydney, marranoe's, russo's, castle hill exhaust, sams performance, oztrack and others im sure. id go see them in person and discuss your goals and see who you like best. they all have the runs on the board and customers will always have a biased opinion based on there experiance. the 5 listed above in my opinion you wont go wrong with

X-force hit & miss?

I think that price is using X-Force cat-back not sure what brand the headers were. for the price bang for buck it is good I think. I had KPM cat-back put on pre delivery at the dealership, and put a KPM/VCM OTR on myself, and recently flashed in a remote Mafless tune from Oz-Track, haven't had a chance to do any data logging yet, but just the flashed base tune made the car so much better, I have the auto and had the gearbox tune done as well and that is where the biggest difference is that I have noticed so far, but I haven't had a chance to drive it much yet as I am away at work in WA.
I found that the car from the dealership with the exhaust done was already good and very responsive, even though I had heard others on this forum say that they thought they were sluggish. After i put the OTR on the thing was a pig wasn't responsive at all, the gearbox was searching for gears before the car went any where when you put your foot down. This got better after driving it a few more times as the computer re adjusts, but it was better in my opinion before the OTR went on just in the way it accelerated and the gearbox picked gears. But I'm sure it would have got better with time, but I don't have time as I am home to drive the car only 1 week in 5, so I paid for the remote tuve with the EFIlive V2 from Steve at Oz Track. As I said I have only flashed in the base tune , once I do some datab logging runs that tune will get emailed back to Steve for extra refinement, but just the base tune made the thing take off like a cat being kicked in the arse from a standstill, but also when putting your foot down a bit in any gear it would find the right gear and use the torque to pull away, instead of finding a gear or 2 below what you actually need.

I had a duspeed on my ute for a while, the issues I encountered were that the position of the air-flow sensor (I think that is what it is called?) caused it to get water damage and stop working. Also after a long drive, I opened the bonnet and found the filter bracket missing and the filter sucked half way up the OTR towards the throttle body.

I agree with your comments about the workshops having some runs on the board, it is a matter of going in to see them to see who you feel most comfortable with. Like I said, I have had very good service with VCM and have no hesitation in recommending them.

another good point i beleave about the vcm otr is when they experianced a manufacturing fault, the after sales service these guys did was amazing in my eyes. they went out of their way to rectify the problem on affected units.
