Cant find cause of several problems, any idea's appreciated.

Vx series1, Bad vibration/ shudder on drivers side when braking mostly down hill from 100+k to any from 80-60 km. Replaced all front end bushes, pads and dba rotors. New tires, alignment, balance done. Checked suspension and within tolerances. Had 4 Different mechanics look at it and no luck. Possible rear rotors? Warped Hubs? Faulty abs. No fault codes are displayed.

The other issue is puzzling me, I have run out of fuel twice, dist to empty drops dramatically no matter how easy i drive from the 1/4 tank mark. The Problem is not running out of fuel, its when i fill up i can only cram 63 liters max into the tank. Replaced all filters, checked lines reset cpu to no avail. Is there any point in dropping the tank? It is a 75lt tank????

Appreciate any and all feedback on these issues.

Regards,
Nick.

It is a 75ltr tank but there will always be 10ltr left in the tank that you can't use!

So technically you are running out of fuel, how many kms you getting per 63ltr of fuel?

Possibly warped rear rotor(s).

well yes but gauge & cpu is not accurate, the second time was to try and run out and fill up to see if i could get approx 75 lt in tank. 10 liters sounds like heaps of unused fuel considering where the pickup is. Could u please explain the reasoning for this. Is it to stop sediment pickup? How deep does the float run? does it have a float or sensors in tank. When i first got the car the gauge and distance to empty was much more accurate, fit approx 69lts in without running out and could get above 600ks from full tank with mixed highway and city driving. Now i only get 500ks max running 98 oct and only use bp fuel. Any advice appreciated.

Ill give the rears a change, that was the further-est cause in my mind but seems plausible as i don't sit in the back seat nor does any adult. Possible for vibration to start from there and shake whole drivers side of car. Cheers will tell u what i find.

I can assure you you can use all (well 73) of the fuel. I used the "fuel used" display on my 3 window dash and it had said I'd used 73.6 before I panicked, and put 73.1 according to the servo.

This, mind you was done after calibrating the fuel used function in the dash, and I know ALL the reasons why you shouldn't go so low with your fuel use. Put I did it to purely see what the maximum I could out of the fuel tank if the need ever arose, like not being near a servo etc.

As for vibration, well it could be the rear rotors, there just as cheap and easy to replace as the fronts, so I guess there's not much to lose in trying. Or, as in my previous VX SS it actually was one of the front bearings. It had been obviously worn, but not enough to make crazy sounds, but it shuddered when I braked. Was obviously the movement in the bearing causing the shudder.

If you've already replaced the rotors it's possible it's a front wheel bearing, or the brake calipre isn't working properly and applying uneven pressure under braking. Wheel bearing assemblies are cheap enough and easy enough to fit yourself, if you've got the time and right size sockets and breaker bar. I tested my hub by removing everything from it, including the disc rotor then spinning it around by hand. If it's not an even free-spinning without noise then they should be replaced.
I had 3 mechanics look at the car beforehand in regards to vibrations, and even when I asked "could it be the wheel bearing" they said "nope". One even spun the wheel around and said "nope". I've stopped using mechanics since, except for things I simply cannot do by myself or lack the specialist tools to do.
