Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
No, there are still quite a few designated Holden dealers although their primary brand has changed and still sell Holden parts and retained their Holden workshop equipment and mechanics. The GMSV dealers who sell Silverado utes are still Holden/HSV dealers and many others. in each state. I think the Holden Customer Care site lists the remaining dealers. The remaining Holden dealers in SA now sell MG, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Toyota etc.Yeah but the dealer is now kia as with all the old Holden dealerships there all dead
Not all Holden Dealerships are KIA,
some are KIA & Mitsubishi I have noticed on my travels.
I am assuming you are South of Melbourne ?
Yes but l would rather not wait 3 to 4 months for them to look at it and pay dealership $$$$$ for an apprentice to play with it , that was the norm in the day well known ford dealership had one or two qualified mechanics looking over 20 or so kids so you pay mechanics hourly rate for a kid to play with itNo, there are still quite a few designated Holden dealers although their primary brand has changed and still sell Holden parts and retained their Holden workshop equipment and mechanics. Reg Hunt and Brighton Holden did exactly that !!!Yes but l would rather not wait 3 to 4 months for them to look at it and pay dealership $$$$$ for an apprentice to play with it , that was the norm in the day well known ford dealership had one or two qualified mechanics looking over 20 or so kids so you pay mechanics hourly rate for a kid to play with it
Holden in Cheltenham is now KIA
Holden in Mornington is Hyundi & MG.
Brighton Holden are Mitsubishi (Service Hyundi, Holden, MG & Mitsubishi)
Yup gotta get those bucksReg Hunt and Brighton Holden did exactly that !!!
Paying Qualified Mechanic prices and get Apprentices doing the job.
Oops, I meant "Technicians" !
How i found out, is that I questions the cost a few service invoices,
And told me they had 2 people working on my car,
and they Said a Qualified Technician and his Apprentice, and charge me twice the cost of a Qualified Technician.
At Brighton Holden, what pissed me of the most,
I asked,
"Why do you need the Car for the Whole Day, when its booking at 8am a week ago ?"
Assuming your car would be first in first out, NOPE ! happened a few times when it was being serviced there,
after dropping the car off at 8am, I rang at 2pm and asked if it was ready, and they said not yet, it should be finished by 4:30pm.
So you can understand how pissed I was with them,
Hence the meaning "Stealers"Yup gotta get those bucks
Thank you thats great adviceI havent had this sort issue, as I dont have a VF
But this little bit of advice may help,
Resetting the codes all the time would be a PITA,
I would start checking the plugs/connectors it does sound like a common denominator,
I'd be inclined to download the Service Manual, Its a all PDF PC Manual,
will not work on a phone or ipad,
Holden VF,WN & HSV Gen-F Workshop Manual
