Replacing Outer tie rod

Hey everyone
I am replacing my Outer tie rod on my vt Commodore.

Here's the thing I've taken out the old tie rod and when I'm trying to put in the new one, it won't screw in. It turns maybe once and that's it.

I bought the new part from Autopro and told him it's for a vt Commodore. The part number TE3049.

Is this the right part? Is there anything else I should try. Thanks in advance

Do you have a series 1 or series 2 vt?

The series 1 has a coarse thread. The series 2 has a fine thread.

They are not interchangeable.

That part number is for a series 2 vt.
