i use a hpd one on my collie and it works well.
i am not sure if they make one for the commodore but they are extremely well built.

I thought it was a issue with direct injection . Maybe I should check intake and see if there is any oil residue before purchasing

^ Yes, direct injected engines don’t have fuel washing over the back of the intake valves to keep them clean so as a general rule some extra periodic maintenance would be needed in such engines.

A spray style intake cleaner is normally used during maintenance but a catch can couldn’t hurt to possibly reduce the frequency of such cleaning.

Not sure what Holdens maintenance schedule recommends for DI engines but manufacturers tell us all sorts of porkies, like auto boxes are “sealed for life” and thus don’t need dip sticks or fill tubes, just to encourage more car sales through attrition o_O

I like the look of some of these catch cans but on a well maintained stock street car I'm also of the belief it doesn't hurt to have one but it does hurt not to.

Just did an oil change today and the catch can was almost full.
