Morning guys,

I've got an MY14 SSV Redline, last few months having issues when I refuel it. Won't start immediately after refuelling. Cranks but won't fire. Had it into 5 different mechanics, usually engine light comes on. When they scan comes with a fuel code error.

Had the fuel pump replaced which had a burnt socket. Since then it's refused to start after being left overnight. Seems to start again after a few hours of sitting randomly. Sometimes also clears engine light on its own. It's so random on when it will and won't start no mechanic can pin point the problem.

I was also driving it to work yesterday and upon accelerating was very sluggish with high revs then after a few seconds a loud "pop" or "bang" and got power back again. Apparently could be something to do with fuel pressure? I've left cap off and tried starting it won't work though

Is it tuned?
Either way fault codes are necessary!

It is tuned. I've had a Walkinshaw 310 pack installed onto it. Tuned to 98 octane.

The codes it threw were P023f and P069e. This was before fuel pump was replaced. Pump was replaced 4 days ago, car wouldn't start this morning after sitting in garage for 11 hours. Same issue, cranks over and over but won't fire.

How long before it started playing up was it Walkinshawed?

Does it smell like unburned petrol when you’re cranking & it doesn’t fire?

You need to follow the diagnostic procedures in the workshop manual under Engine -> Engine controls and fuel -> diagnostic information -> DTC P0231, 232, 023F
It could be a bad A7 fuel pump and level sensor assembly

There are also other procedures to follow relating to pressue issues etc

ALso, the harness needs to be replaced if you had a burnt socket not the fuel pump necessarily!
Such as this:

No there's no smell at all while it's cranking and not firing.

I've had the vehicle for 9 years straight from factory. Was walkinshawed 2 days outta factory. Only started playing up 2 months ago.

Fuel pump is now brand new. I'll mention sensor the the mechanics when I can get it back in there.

Yeah that photo is exactly what they showed me with a burnt out socket. If that's the case, nothing was mentioned about the harness. I will tell mechanic and ask to replace the harness.

Could be a neat solution if it just needs a piece of harness. :)
Symptoms (no fuelly smell, low pressure) certainly make it possible.
Fingers crossed! :)
