Hey all
Have a 2002 Calais doing few things to get it roadworthy.
Noticed the horn doesn’t work and the horn pad is very spongy I could almost sink my hand into it... another issue is the airbag light is on.
So with these 2 things in mind my assumption is the airbag may have been deployed some time in the past (cars been unreg for about 3 years). No front end damage though.
haven’t checked power to the horn but my main concern is why the horn pad is extremely soft... I pressed the horn pad on my berlina and it’s extremely stiff and engages the horn in usual working order.
so after researching I’ve seen solutions such as: clock spring, fuse/relay for horn, a replacement horn, a replacement horn pad with airbag or go the whole way and complete replacement steering wheel
any help is much appreciated cheers
