Fucken load of PR horse crap. 5300 RPM shifts, promoting everything in KIA’s favour without perspective.
One is a known quantity that will last average driver 20 years+ vs usurper offering with no references. What’s the comeback for barely any 20 year old Hyundai’s on the road, never mind trying to hoodwink us (ie the right royally entitled owners of KOM authentic kick arse Aussie product) that weeny little cheap arse fake **** box with cabin space of subcompact Trax, will do better than the King. As if we’re gonna believe the proposition it will “eat up Aussie roads” because some poufter on a test track “made to imitate the real world of the outback” (FFS it’s mostly dirt and goats) says so? I just can’t imagine that thing being caned interstate every day at 80% load for 300-400k km. I suspect it will go the way of most Hyundai here after 200k km. Get real, car is a flashy disposable gamble and that piece d’camera is just abhorrent.
Braking is same, slalom same, just that short shifting at 5300 is always gonna end in tears.
Honestly, three gear changes over the 1/4? Check that with anyone who has put their car full pelt down the strip with confidence, back-to-back. Thing is NA V8 will hammer better than shown, 24 hours every day of the week. That’s why Bathurst is 1000 km, not 0-100.
Also no fricken way is a turbo 3 litre at 2 bar more efficient in any way than a V8. Just a fricken furphy.
Anyways, is another piece of fluff and bubble bullshit from caradvice. Disgusting. Same with those fellas here who lap that **** up, should be ashamed. Then again I’d love to be in the game of selling you a disposable fashion piece every year. Tiburon, Vortex and a thousand crappy ricer fashion disasters led the way, now Stinger carries the baton

Our VF is starting to get rattles at 17k km's ... I'm a little disappointed. :(
There's a reason Falcodores have always been considered cheap performance.

In a post-VF and a post-V8 Commodore world, if I was in the market for a new car and choosing between the new MY18 Commodore in V6 and the Stinger with a turbo V6, I think that the Stinger would be seriously hard to go past.

Personally, it wouldn't matter how good a KIA was or how much better it is than a Holden or another make in its class, there is no way in hell i or anyone in my family will ever drive a KIA...

So how come this Drive comparison tells such a different story to the CA comparisons?

....and anything to do with CA admitting to buying a Stinger for their company (in one of their stories today)??

listening to that clip it sounds like they only gave the commodore half throttle, I think the driver got scared of the V8 roar.

Meh ... not actually that excited about Stringer. Reviews now it’s actually out make it sound like it may be OK in a straight line, but that it’s no fun.
But fanbois who get all upset when it does one single thing better than a (rattly) Commodore; I dunno, the refusal to see reality is just disconcerting.

    Why isn’t concerted a word?
We should make concerted a word.

I'll take a V8 any day over any turbo car. Turbo's just don't sound good imo. I'll hold onto my VFS1 redline for years to come and if I do decide to buy again most probably be a SUV..

You don’t have to give-up on life just because affordable V8’s are no longer available! :(
Actually, if your VF holds together for 5 years or so, current talk is that next Camaro is likely to be engineered to be built in RHD and should be available for Redline money. Only problem is that GM seems to be falling apart & cost-cutting all over the place, so it’s not a given.

Because CarAdvice’s commercial proposition to its stakeholders (Hyundai) is an ad, the fact people believe ads is a sick joke. So is the owner of said sad show, flies business class around the world on paid PR jaunts negotiating these ad campaigns, makes tens of millions a year. Called advertorial, totally unethical.
