DTC 0253 with symtom byte 2A, is related to the No. 4 actuator circled in your above post. (I wish you luck removing this actuator) have some colourful words at the ready when trying to remove this.

These International Air HVAC systems made for GMH will not complete a HVAC door relearn if any ONE of the actuators are faulty.

You will need to replace the first listed faulting actuator on the scan tool first. This will be the No. 4 circled actuator in your diagram of the HVAC system. Vent/Floor door motor actuator.

Then perform a relearn (most important is having the engine running while you do an actuator recalibration so that the system is at full voltage (12-13 Volts), modules like full power when relearning things, and not having the engine running and a weak battery will cause issues when relearning the actuators). Once you have done this it is possible the second DTC B0418 symptom byte 2A will go from PRESENT to NOT PRESENT.

Clear all the codes and do another HVAC Door Recalibration. and if no other faults show up you should be good to go as you have confirmed the Recirc door hinge is all good.

P.S. Would recommend new actuator replacement in the repair also.

Hope it's not a head gasket. Hot air can disappear if air gets into the cooling system. Mine only blows cold air through the HVAC & pretty sure the problem is a buggered head.

Sore back, sore neck and a hand cut to shreds but the good news is putting it back in is easier than taking it out :D
