How expensive was it? Cause I bought a used one and a lot of the chrome at the front is damaged

there's a satin one on ebay right now for $38.

I think my Chrome one was about the same.

Satin and Chrome ones are both a metal covering. If you have chrome door handles go chrome, if satin... well you get the idea.

Just looking at that store, you totally need this.

It's a good idea for just swapping the lever. The rest of the leather surround is in perfect condition.

So since April 2012 after deciding to do most work on my car as fed up with my mechanic, today went in for air con check up as its not working.

Says need reconditioned compressor, o- rings and flush for $1100

Told him can get parts new and cheaper.

Lol anyone know in Sydney where can take car to a trusted person?

If you are keen I can ask my mechanic who he would buy parts from, and how much they are so you can find a retailer in Sydney and give it a shot yourself?
Unless you would prefer a mechanic to get on it

My manny said he uses either Bursons (Burson Auto Parts) or Repco or Genuine parts and you should expect to pay about $500 plus fitting and gassing.
He's a real genuine and honest bloke, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've had previous mechanics charge up to x3 what he charges me. So that's you! Hope you find some bits for your car and hope you save a couple hundred bucks!

Even though I was chatty to him, was sussing him out.
Was waiting for the invoice and such this morning, his computer was off apparently, so said i would wait.
Waited 10mins chatting to him and funnily enough the printer still wouldnt work.

Even told him yest to have a list made up for me and invoice.
I went to this mechanic initially as got my pink slip there and was happy that he dealt with some old classics and such.

Will give him benefit of the doubt, but the prices seem rather ####ing high for a reconditioned pump, seals and regas for $1100. Maybe that what his supplier is charging him. Dunno.
Like ####en seriously though, I DO NOT BEND OVER.


Now apparently, can get difficult to install and licensed and all that ****, so going to gather parts up, and get a mobile air con guy whom has a good rep to come and do it. He can also install the parts as well and i can help out.
I also have a backup place to go to if needed.
