the buick v6 is a little bit different than the holden v6

I know its based on the buick but the holden boys have massively improved it
below is a line taken form Wikipedia regarding the new vn model

Changes in the relative values of the Australian dollar and Japanese yen made it financially impractical to continue with the well-regarded Nissan engine of the VL. Instead, Holden manufactured their own 3.8-litre V6 engine based on a Buick design, adapted from front- to rear-wheel drive

not looking for arguments just thought I would say

cheers

VN-VR are commonly referred to as "Buick v6" not Holden v6.

it is a Buick engine, with a few changes to change it from an east/west fwd engine to a rwd engine. Just like the LS engines which are assembled with a different sump etc to suit the Commodore, they still aren't a Holden engine. That's why the first of the VN V6's had the thermostat housing in a prick of a spot (back of the engine). Because on the east/west FWD Buick, it was easily accessible from the front of the car.
Sump and pickup is different, later models used a revised intake manifold with the thermostat housing relocated, throttle body elbow etc... But essentially it is just a modified Buick. Even the Ecotec is still a Buick engine, it just inherited the name 'Ecotec' so people tend to use the names Buick & Ecotec to distinguish between the VN-VR and VS-VY engines.

look familiar ? It's a 93 Buick

Obviously you care since you copy and pasted a wall of text to try and prove someone wrong.

if you say so

Ok - time for some edumakation for you:

VN-VR V6's are generally referred to as Buicks and boat anchors.
VS-VY V6's are Ecotecs, emo's or just ****.
