The interior was a mess, dirty, ripped , cracked.. door cards and most of the plastic bits have been dyed, I am doing it all myself on a budget.. not paying thousands to someone else to do it

Interesting.

Since a part of the strength in a monocoque body is provided by the exterior metalwork, just curious how the inner metal wheel tub and outer fender connection is resolved. Do you stitch weld them together or fold them over each other in some way?

Tig, the wheel arch (very small patched used in 1 area), the doors were cut longer on the outer skin, folded and seem welded.

I like those wheels, they look great. Starter motor was crap, found a good used one and had it bench tested. I ve changed both battery leads and terminals.

Few questions guys. the engine is 253, when I had it running it sounds healthy.No noises at all. The few issues I have are, the clutch Release bearing is playing up so box needs to come out, also there is a small leak rear main and washer on the oil pump.I am planning to pull box and engine out and do the clutch and freshen the engine with new gaskets, sump, rear main, rocker covers, I am confident in changing them myself etc but what worries me is the rear main seal.1.how hard is to replace it when the engine is out? 2. Can the box and engine come out to together on VB? Looks ok to me, I am also planning give the engine a simple spray once it is out and change the engine mounts.

Rear main seal isn't too bad, but its a crank out job so you kind of end up in the whole 'while I'm here'. Well I do anyway haha.
