Hi all, I have a series 1 ve ssv, I had a issue with flaring last year, so had the transmission rebuilt, problem was a cracked drum, the rebuild consisted of the basic seals, clutches, torque converter and a bypass cooler, transmission was good for a few months and now its starting to hold 2nd gear too long before going into 3rd, and occasionally flaring if you accelerate hard, took it back to transmission specialist and he put another auto in the car, and said if the problem is still there it must be in valve body as we used my old valve body and tcm with the new box, and wants another $1,200 to replace the valve body. Just curious if any other ve owners experienced similar transmission issues

I've had the same issue since I bought my 2008 SSV. Mine flares between 2nd and 3rd. I haven't taken it down the rebuilding road that you have, instead i just deal with it. I've seen trans specialists about it and I've been told to ensure the TCU has the latest software. GM know about the problem, they just never did anything about it...

I drove mine as long as I could, towards the end was going into limp mode and car was pretty much undrivable... Now I'm just annoyed that's its flaring from the valve body, think I'll get it replaced then the transmission should be 100%then.
