Just to recap! When the engine is warm the car revs to 4,500rpm when starting the car and taking off aggressively and then shifts & holds the second gear way too long.
Only happens straight after starting the car each time.
The mechanic says its normal for the vf ls3 to do this and there is no need for a solenoid oil dump or transmission relearn.
Its driving me nuts.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Thoughts?
Mine holds 1st and 2nd gear too but I don't take it to 4500 RPM. I always think I wish it held the gears other times as sometimes it changes too quick.

Does urs hold 1st & second straight after every restart?
As in first take off only on every restart?
Throughout the day if i dont switch the car off it will shift normally.
Why does it shift so aggressively only on restart is what i want to know.

Usually only after a warm/hot restart. I have no idea why they do this? I might ask one of the engineers.

That would be great if you could ask them and let me know please.
Can u also ask the engineers whether it can be eliminated/overridden somehow.

Hey guys!
Ive got a Vf ssv series 2.
Custom tune and a vcm otr are currently my only mods.
Each time i start the car and take off reasonably firmly it will rev to 4000-4500rpm then shift holding the second gear for a ages.
Then i would slow down to a complete stop and take off again resulting in the car to rev properly to 3000rpm then shift and not hold the second gear for ages.
It will always rev to 4000-4500rpm after every single start and ONLY after every single start.
Please help! The mechanic says its normal whilst the tuner says it might be a holden software glitch.
Monstar or whoever knows whats going on i would love to know what is going on.
The tuner reflashed the stock tune and was still doing the same thing.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Hey just saw this thread and I have the same issue with my tuned VF. Did you ever resolve yours?

Mine does that as well on the first shift after start when cold.
It is cold so itis better to take easy anyway.
The old temp usually takes around 15 minutes to reach normal operating temp.
