it is adjustable up and down. I don’t think where it is perceived can be adjusted as such? I see it as projected to about the front of the bonnet (above the front bumper).

Interesting how that’s shown in the video … in reality when you’re looking at it, adjusting it down chops the bottom of the display off, adjusting it up chops the top of the display off. A driver has little choice over the location that’s fully visible to them; the adjustment is so the display can be fully seen by that driver.

I can’t be at the upper extremity of adjustment or something like that, I’m only 6’1”.

Thanks, that explains the issue. My unit is definitely not factory. It has a little black box sitting on the dash like a hard disk drive and a tinted patch of glass stuck on the windscreen to reflect off. So it's like a black hole in your line of sight and makes driving quite dangerous.

The HUD can be adjusted for brightness, so it is easy to see through. You just have to adjust your focus between watching the road and checking the display. One of the Calais‘s best features.

I thought the HID was only on the “V” spec Calais and redline?

Could be wrong of course

100% aftermarket.

I love the factory HUD in the WN.
When I jump into the wife's car that doesn't have it, taking your eyes off the road
while looking down at the speedo feels weird.

The last batch/s of SV6 had the HUD. I love mine but it took a little while to get used to.
About 10 mins.
I pooh-poohed it, but we wanted the Redline spec for other reasons & it came with, so we got it.
And then I used it for half an hour …
… which means I now get PO’d when I have to drive without it!

That's what I was thinking as well... Evokes never came with HUD... Must be aftermarket...

MY16 SV6/SS Black Editions gained it, as did SSV

MY17 Everything but Evoke got it
