VLT won't start, i'm at my wits end I swear

Where do you crank the engine from on the RB30? Can you tell I've never cranked an engine by hand lol.

So basically what you guys are saying, is crank the engine by hand, make sure cylinder 1 is fully up, put the dizzy back on so the rotor arm faces lead 1, then try it & if it's running, suss it with a timing light?

Exactly. Put a socket on the bolt that's inside the harmonic balancer and turn it over carefully till 1 is at tdc

Or just put it in gear with the key off and push it, assuming its manual of course.

I'll give it a whirl tomorrow since I'm going out for dinner tonight and don't want to get all greasy. Hopefully my mate at work can find his timing gun this arvo so I can use that.

Can you crank it without removing the lower timing belt cover?

High flow cats are wayyy better, u should get urself one. I put bought one a month or two ago. Gives a better note and u don't get that tingy popping sound when going down a hill in gear. But obviosly mine would sound different with extractors and that when urs is turbo

pretty hard to out flow a piece of straight pipe...

I've never had the timing checked, for all I know it's been retarded since I got it haha
