Both my VR's did, one was a 93 the other a 94. The V8 TB I fitted also needed one.

Old TPS was throwing code 21, this one is throwing 22, but neither did both.
Code 22 is TPS signal voltage too low.. Checking the green GMH manual , you should have 4-6 volts between the black/yellow and grey wires to the TPS ( I was wrong when I said blue and grey in the earlier post). I'd post the page from the manual here but the book's too big for my scanner.

The two types (LN3/L27 vs L36) are reversed from each other like a mirror image, you know if you have the wrong one straight up, it won't fit the right way. I learned this trying to be clever with the old Eco

Well I went for a drive about 15k down the highway and back, It seems to run alright but CEL stays on, came back through town and I noticed there is a little hesitation (almost like a misfire) taking off from a dead stop like set of lights.

Maybe like Losh said you should look at the sleeve adaptor on the end of the butterfly, it might have some slop. To be honest every commodore should have had one, mine were probably lost

Given its code 22, I'd see if one fits just to see if it changes anything.
