VS Berlina 3.8L Massive Problems

Seems like it is the fuel pump. Had a guy drive past me in the street whilst I was working on it and he pulled over. Turns out he used to be a mechanic. He showed me the fuel lines and pulled the tubes off them and got me to crank the engine. Absolutely no fuel pumped through. So he said that it's time for a new fuel pump.

It's good he figured it out, unfortunately it's not something I can fix myself. So mechanics it is.

Check the relay isn't cactus b4 you take it to the mechanics.

Fuel pump relay is in the engine bay, just above the battery. You'll hear it click when the ignition is on.

No click, poo poo relay. Long shot, but pump might be ok.

In saying that, I've gone through 2 pumps in the past 12mnths.............

Its an easy job and there are How To's on here to guide you through.

Is there a way to check the relay properly? All I did was swap the fuel pump relay and fuses with other ones in the system as a test and it still changed nothing.

And I will have a look for the guides before I do take it in, I just don't really have anywhere to work on it properly. Street parking.

I had this problem and it turned out my alternater was shot. I dont know why i stalled when i was driving tho because you dont need power to run the car just to start it?

well if it stalls when warm, thats the good old cas yea

figured every dude and his dog would have said this already

test, pour cold water on it try to start it

maybe your battery terminals are just loose and crappy or earth cable even

battery starts car the alternator charges battery, one car is started you have the electrics as a load on the system (inc battery) they get power from alt and battery, simples!!
