Wasn't it only S-Pac that had LSD as standard. Or was it standard fitment with S III VS?

S pac it was standard atleast for v8 models so assume v6 also but can't remember what year povo packs got it too...it was how used to score really cheap diffs from wreckers

More dangerous without the lsd in certain situations.

Mine had tight LSD but because of it, it caused the 180 that slammed me into the bank. Only few weeks or months earlier diff builder said be very careful, especially in the wet as tight diff could cause exactly what happened to me.

Try being stuck on hill at traffic lights in rain with cars behind you or steep long driveway no weight in tray with that one wheel breaking traction with very little throttle....mofo' rolls backwards can only hit brakes or need big run up & hope for the best haha

Ripping a skid or getting utes sideways is just plain fun with an lsd compared to single spinner trying to roll backwards down hill & you don't want it to do that lol

when I drove it here, after picking it up,

I might of allegedly, accidently put too much pressure on the accelerator thing,

whilst taking off going around a corner which effected a spinning rear inside wheel that then caused a lot of white smoke...

so if it's got a slip diff in it, it's slipping a lot.

I'll jack it up and test it :)

So I just dropped off the L67 to the mechanics to get the tapping diagnosed..

In my mind it's a broken valve spring, maybe the end of a spring broke off , dropped pass the valve and hit the spark plug that was closed up if you remember. then it left via the exhaust valve..

Anyways, waiting for him to do the work and give me a call back and then we'll go from there.

Could be a lifter.

either way will find out shortly.

It's not really possible for that to happen.

how dare you come into my thread with facts and logic? LOL

yep you are of course right..

this is what happens when you've been pushing keys on a keyboard for 30 years and not spanners.. Doh!!

Turns out it was 3 lifters that gave up... going over there now to get some photos..

When I get it back here, I'll put that endoscope thing down the spark plug holes to see the damage to the pistons and decide what to do from there.
