I was under the impression VN to VS heads were in the 62 to 63cc head volume range and VT few cc less then that?

I did an actual measurement and my results were 58cc on VN-VS heads.
With their smaller chambers, the VT would be around 54cc.

I'll have to measure my spare VN heads at some stage, never thought they were that small, certainly don't look it.

I had to vaso around the intake valve so it wouldn't leak, but showed 61cc on this set of May 1994 heads

Intake valve is roughly 360-370 thou above deck height, exhaust is 370-380 range.
Add the head gasket, and pistons down the hole and Piston to valve clearance is ample. No way TDC lifts will be near that on any build.

Only measured because @Having A Break said they were shallow.
Yes they are shallow compared to a hemi style head (where valve to valve clearance is more of a consideration) but not in the sense of piston clearance in a Holden (not that he was suggesting they were).
