Vx commodore strut towers

Hey guys hope all is well, just posting up this as I've never had to deal with this crap before and seeing if anyone has had to deal with this, I notis the seam sealant on upper part of the strut towers are starting to crack, nothing to major just starting to notice it, the crack isn't anywhere else but the top part, can I get a rwc and rego with that problem or not, in the future I was planing on removing the old seal crap, welding it together then adding some big as it won't flex after welding if not I'll just get some automotive seam sealant and put that over the welds, cheers guys let me know
