I've had mine turned on constantly for around the last 6 months and noticed no change in fuel economy...

just for my own frame of mind, why do you drive around with it constantly on

s/charged v6 HR Holden, s/charged v6 EH Holden,
I have a VZ CV8Z Monaro & noticed it doesnt have a "Power" button at all . So I guess it was deleted. Honestly, I never used it on my VY , So I dont think it was worth having, GMH must have thought the same!!!!:bomb:

You don't need a power button in a V8 :p

Also the PWR button also introduces a mode that keeps the car in a certain gear ( does not change up when you need the power) after you drive in a aggressive style on the 5 speeds auto boxes..

Does anybody know if PWR mode in combination with the paddle shifters has any effect or does manual shift override PWR?

it also adjusts the auto clutch release/apply zones..... so u'll use more fuel most of the time even if u drive slow with pwr mode on..... cause it's designed for u to drive faster :D
Clutch? An auto transmission woks by applying pressurised fluid between a series of reduction gears. The planetary gearset on the engine side of the box controlls the take off and shift points. There is no actual clutch plate in the auto.

The torque converter does have a lock up clutch.
