Not my car but a mates. Been chasing a cold start issue that we've never sorted but now the car is back on the road we decided to tackle it again as it's getting cold and he wants to be able to get in and drive it in the morning rather than waiting for it to warm up and settle before he can get underway.

Problem is, the car is cammed and it doesn't like the really rich AFR on a cold start, it chugs and has a rolling idle till it warms a bit. We have managed to make it better by tuning around the problem but have never figured out how to fix the primary cause.

Spent hours looking over tables in the tune to try and alter the cold start AFR but it's not labelled (or labelled correctly). Mate has been over to my place 3 or 4 times in the last week, twice in the last 3 days updating and trying different things.

Problem is, testing cold start **** can really only be done once a day.

Hoping my hunch is right, the maths shows I might have figured it out but now I'm waiting till his next cold start too hear back.

Been most frustrating.

Thought I'd test out the iron decontamination spray on my original rims. Never cleaned the barrels because I haven't pulled them off the car. This is maybe 5ish years of build up.

Embarrassed on the state of them.

Done for today, will need wax and tar remover to get the final spots off, but really happy with the result.

This stuff really works well, and will definitely add this to my cleaning colection.
