I took the bonnet release cable out today, what a mission especially as I had no idea how it came out. I couldn't get to move, first I tried to cut it out, that didn't work so I went to Bunnings and bought a soldering iron. It didn't argue much after that. At least I know how the new one goes back in

Stupid bonnet cable has popped out of the handle on mine. I'm yet to have a good look at it as I don't really know how it's supposed to stay on. Plus it means laying upside down to get a good look at it.

I'm sure it was someone at Holden with a perverse sense of humour who designed them.

I had got a mail order chip from someone who had been given good reviews on this forum. To say it ran rough would be an understatement. This morning I put the original chip back in. It's a totally different car, I had to adjust the idle down but it's running really nice. It will still have to go in for a tune but it will not have to have much done to it. Quite obviously got a cam in it and it's a wee bit noisy but it's only ever going to be a club car so I can live with that.

drove the VP in & out the shed a couple times over the weekend. even wiped the windows of dust. does that count?

got new shelves up in the shed and measured the floor for another hoist. Cleaning up the shed is productive, but wasnt on my list of things I wanted to do to the VP over the weekend

Roadworthy plus club rego. It's been about 4 1/2 years since I last drove it. Insurance next then out on the road with my wings clipped somewhat. However there are plenty of events for me to go on so it won't be to bad.

I insured the car with Shannon's for $50,000. With roadside assist of $180 the cost per year was $480. I couldn't believe how cheap they were. They base their valuations on auctions rather than car sales. The only car they could find that was similar was a vh sle with a 4.2 motor. It went for over $48,000.

I had my chrome taillight trims rechromed, cost $240.00. I thought it was a bit dear but what you see people asking for crappy used ones it didn't seem so bad.

When I enquired with shannons over insurance of my VC, they based the valuation over similar cars for sale...That was back in February....So interesting how they have done it with yours...

Took a coupe of days to complete but I added a flex fuel sensor and bigger fuel system and went 480kw's at the wheels

Pretty happy with the result, bit more than I was expecting!
Cheers to Gareth and Martin at Powertech Tuning.

Today I helped my youngest purchase his first car, it’s a VE Series II SV6 in Poison Ivy with low kms. Hopefully I’ve set him up on the right path, if turning him into another Holden tragic is actually the right path
