Today , rebuild my Vt 304 distributor with new hall effect sensor and o-ringed it , and reconditioned my ignition module ( New transistor and zener diodes ) . New cap, rotor leads and plugs. And re routed my coil negative drive wire to the module well away from the loom . Also clearcoted my 31 year old bonnet to protect the rust and mould . Love my Datsun 304 V8

Got the jammed door open in the Senator and replaced the stuffed lock.

finally got the rooflining out of the VP so I can try and get it retrimmed.
Found the stitching in the rear seat base is letting go now - adding another thing to the project VP list

No actual working on cars this week having stitches in. Got the panels I need to paint back on the 910 . I need to take it to somewhere I can paint 2k next weekend.

Bring my trans am home cause mums selling up. The 180sx widebody is finished and needs to come he as well as my 180b and he's not doing anymore Resto work til he's finished 2 personal cars.

So Ive spent the weekend tidying up getting ready to move cars in and out and wondering if I can fit 3 more here without upsetting real estate for the inspection the week after haha.

I thought I'd have finished my truck and sold it by now and had a house deposit to not care about the rent inspection but no Bueno yet. Hoping mate comes over with the air riveter and we can do clearance lights, re wire the tray today and shampoo the interior.

Then it's just roll the tray , touch up the black plastics and new set of mirrors on cleaned up mounting bars.

Before anyone says I own too many things. I had a 400m2 workshop on the farm two years ago and this is down to the ahhhh I don't want to sell any of these I'd rather be restoring them the next ten years hahahhaa. Joys of being a sentimental person with ADHD.

What was the trick ?

other half was the genius here. He took the back seat base out for door trim clearance and I had to sacrifice the lock and snib (it wouldn’t pull up the whole way due to being jammed)

Had him with the multi grips on the lock while I the snib out. Then used plastic trim tools to work the inner door trim off.

Absolutely anxiety inducing on those trims I can tell you.

Once trim was off, popped the outside door handle out and could get it to pop the latches and open the door.

Once I got the lock mechanism out there was bits of plastic everywhere that had given up. Chunk in the bottom of the door too.

so glad it’s sorted but I find working on the Senator very unpleasant often. The rarity of VS HSV specific parts and even mint commodore parts means I am anxious before I even start.

VE Series I SS Ute
Should have upped the price everytime someone asks.

Just upped the price to $600. I no longer need to sell them as it's looking like they will fit my VE, if I use hub rings. I'm thinking I am going to sandblast them and fix the scuffs and etch prime them, as I can do all that for under $50, since I already have enough sand, and a big tin of etch.
