Genuinely stunned at how much crud i just pulled off the roof bonnet and boot with the clay bar. I thought having clay barred 6 months ago and only driving the car on the weekend with it parked under a carport during the week that it wouldn't need claying again. How wrong was i.

At least you know that clay bar is working :) Did you do the plastic bag test first to see how bad it was?
I have once had to clay bar a brand new car (before it was even registered or sold, straight off the showroom floor basically) due to heaps of industrial fallout, you wouldn't believe how rough it was, so it can happen to any car.

Six months after clay baring. Can't believe how much gunk has built up in 6 months.

Whats the plastic bag test?

Get a cheap plastic sandwich bag, stick it on your hand and "feel" the paint with your palm through it.
You will feel any crud on the surface better then just using your hand, basically if it feels clean then you don't need to clay bar it, but it will usually feel rough as.
