I’d pick the Subaru Forester for the win assuming they are driven straight off the showroom floor and onto the race track.

The boxer gives it a lower centre of gravity than the other SUVs and utes and Subarus are reliable enough to go the distance.

The all wheel drive gives it an advantage over the two wheel drive cars and the Tesla is out of the running because it couldn’t do the race distance without an overnight battery charge!

And will sound the best too.

  1. Ford Ranger
  2. Toyota Hilux
  3. Tesla Model 3
  4. Mazda CX-5
  5. Mitsubishi Outlander
  6. Toyota RAV4
  7. MG ZS
  8. Isuzu UTE D-Max
  9. Subaru Forester
  10. MG 3

As for that top 10, we already have Ranger, Hilux and D-Max racing (in a very modified way)
The old Falcon Commodore utes were great to watch.
Superseded by the Thailand Soot Blowers Grand Prix ......... like watching paint dry.
And now, some Franken-utes with LS engines which are only slightly more interesting than the soot blowers.

Come 2030 ........ it won't be the Bathurst 1000.
It will be the EV Bathurst 4 x 250, run over 4 days so that they can recharge the batteries overnight.

Political pressure and legislation, greenie lobby groups, and the price of unaffordable cars will kill motor racing, eventually.

As long as we have wheels that are round we'll find ways of doing dumb **** and entertaining ourselves. :)

Knew about the skateboarders, but they are just mad with a death wish.
I was speculatively joking about billy carts ................................ I didn't know it was a competitive real thing.

Head says I'd want the Model 3, but heart says I'd want to slam the Ranger :D

You heard of the super ute series....Took over from the V8 utes.....

They run lowered 4X4 utes like Rangers, with the exception of running LS motors

Not sure if they're running this year though

^^^^^ ...... they won't be missed.
I would rather watch the Little Aussie Racing Cars. Now there is a competitive, watchable category.
