I hear less aero as well which should improve overtaking opportunities.

VEGTS BUILT BLOWN E85
yea bout 60% less downforce, but they are a lighter vehicle and softer tyres too i think so it sorta helps with there top speed just the cornering is bit worse, and basically no aero wash behind a car so should be better

Apert from SVG's overtaking nudge on Mozzie during the last few laps, the usual overtaking was still the leading car pulled into the pits, and the following car didn't.
'Parity' still means predictable 'follow the leader'.
Street circuits / concrete canyons don't help overtaking opportunities either. Perth may be the first chance to see if the new aero works as planned.

PS ..... wish they would rid of the fake corners and chicanes made up by tyre bundles at Adelaide and Gold Coast.

They only just introduce the Camaro to Supercars and it’s axed.
It’s ok, there is a brand new hatchback Camaro in development.

Maybe the category just needs to go full stupid and start racing the top 10 selling cars in the country each year. Thus always ensuring new random things, stupid development once again, questionable safety, just like the good ol days. :p

What would a grid of the top 10 cars look like Hmmm..

  1. Ford Ranger
  2. Toyota Hilux
  3. Tesla Model 3
  4. Mazda CX-5
  5. Mitsubishi Outlander
  6. Toyota RAV4
  7. MG ZS
  8. Isuzu UTE D-Max
  9. Subaru Forester
  10. MG 3

HAHA that would be wild!

Teams are given a prod car by random ballet for 3x years. They have, I dont know, 1 Mill each year to spend on mechanical development, receipts are audited, + 5x free power trains per year. Build them to national sport sedan rules,

DONE! :D

Real life Gran Tourismo! :D

I’d pick the Subaru Forester for the win assuming they are driven straight off the showroom floor and onto the race track.

The boxer gives it a lower centre of gravity than the other SUVs and utes and Subarus are reliable enough to go the distance.

The all wheel drive gives it an advantage over the two wheel drive cars and the Tesla is out of the running because it couldn’t do the race distance without an overnight battery charge!
