I pity some numb nut who in 30 years wants to rebuild a VF to original !!!

Well that will never happen will it with all the specialised Plastics and Electronics which will be well and truly obsolete by then and not be cost effective to even try to replicate as most of the type of materials used in the manufacturing process won't even be available.

Happy to accept a W1 if anyone has one spare.;)

3D Printing.

Your phone (or whatever other connected device or appendage exists then) will probably be able to do it in 30 years.

In fairness Holden have at last done a few things to help their plight. Firstly, the 5 year unlimited km warranty is a great thing. Combine that with the $500 to test drive their car offer and it shows they finally are backing their own product

I wonder what the 5yr warranty will do to second hand market prices of Commodores. Traditionally Commodores lose nearly half their value once they hit 2-3 years old.

So we hate the ZB because we just want a big dumb V8 right?

I wouldn't say that, I'd say it's because the ZB is trying to replace something that it is clearly not. I'd suggest Holden would have been better to retire the Commodore brand with the VF and sold the ZB on it's merits rather than banking on the legacy of the Commodore badge which is now abundantly clear has backfired spectacularly.

Clearly Holden has lost touch with it's comsumer base. The question in the threat title is wrong, GM will survive in Australia, however if Holden will survive past the ZB is the more relevant question.

Can someone check the fine print on these new 5 year warranties to see if the Warranty continues to the new owner if the vehicle is sold before the 5 year period is up or is it limited only to the original owner.

For cars that have it things will improve somewhat. Those that don't will probably drop a bit.

Same same as 3 year but 5 and unlimited km with my Z71. Has 5 year roadside assist too.

Ive rarely seen proper roadside assist offered as part of a car sale. What ive seen is free tow to the nearest approved workshop, namely a dealership associated with either the brand or owned by the franchisee under a different brand. What i have also found is they won't do a temporary repair to get you home nor will they put you up in a motel if you break down and are stuck for two days.
