Hi there

Since I bought my Statesman, sometimes when I would turn left I would get this grinding sound like the tyre rubbing on the wheel arch. It happened again the other day and I noticed that on the dash it said 'ESP active' (or something similar to that).

The car was under control, I wasn't speeding but this happens from time to time. Does anyone out there now why this is happening? I know that ESP is there for emergencies but it shouldn't really cut it going around the corner at a safe speed should it?

Car is in RWC condition, tyres are good and stock size.

Hope someone out there knows whats going on

Cheers, MB

I'm only guessing (but it's an educated guess). You may have a worn wheel bearing that is allowing slight movement of the wheel which might cause the noise and affect the traction control sensor, triggering an ESP warning. Get it up on ramps and give it a good look over.

Thanks Brettly

Car is due for a service soon so I will get the mechanic to check out the wheel bearings.
