i say this...on the vs the the power button works this way....down and pressed and locked ..is standard or eco mode...and up is on power mode and non standard........my vt the button up is standard and off and buttn pressed is on and non standard.............so i would say ...if that happened...

or look on ebay mate....i got VT rad delivered for $100.00 suits man or auto and suits double or single tank....as well ....also they took 3 days to deliver....the rad was easy to fit ...and everything but a new rad cap...so make sure you buy a new rad cap

the short answer is ...all 1 wire sensors are the same for v6....and all 2 wire temp gauge are also the same for v6...however...there can be several listed parts for easch and some may have a different id... the fact is there all interchangable...from gmh and 3 leading suppliers we worked that...

update......well today we visited gmh and 3 leading parts suppliers...holden was helpful and confussing..and 2 of the 3 parts supply places ref books also confussing.. i will explain..we visted supercheap / autopro and autobarn along with holden.. I asked this quesation of holden today...xv...

here is a little update...the car was overheating ..or we thought so...so we done the following given what we found...1) gunge 1/2 inch thick in overflow tank..from standing for years and no use of coolant..in the past and scrappy line build up...so that got flushed back to perfect....2)flushed...

ok here is the update....as i said before the car overheated ..or so we thought... this what i now feel....having probed it... i cleaned out the engine with hosing and running engine hosing ...so a power flush...backflushed the the lot...heater ran perfect clean...engine too...and the new...

Bingo....its either water pump with a empellar issue....or a seizing up.... or a themostate... since you said the overheat even now happens at night ...look at both..carefully by replacing both also look and check for welsh plugs that may be leaking under high pressure or hot water... and...
