    Drumming at 50 to 80Km/h

Still don't think an engine mount would be felt through the steering wheel
  2. KING46Calais V

    Drumming at 50 to 80Km/h

It's not diff a rear wheel bearing issue coming thru the steering wheel?
  3. KING46Calais V

    Drumming at 50 to 80Km/h

Would an engine mount issue feed thru to the steering wheel?

    Drumming at 50 to 80Km/h

V6 and I wouldn't expect it to feedback thru the steering wheel, or does it?

    Drumming at 50 to 80Km/h

I've had wheel bearings that have passed the wobble test and have still been shite. It just seems odd that its not present thru all the speed ranges which is why I thought balance more than bearing. But pretty big coincidence its happening with new tyres and alignment done by a different mob...

    Drumming at 50 to 80Km/h

Hi everyone, I've got a 2000 VX Commodore with 330K. Still on original factory front wheel hubs. Had a drumming sound which I thought was due to bad wheel alignment/balance. Just got new tyres and balance and another alignment and it is still there. Am I right to think front hubs? or possibly...

    VF SS wheels

Yep should be able to have a look tomorrow. Unless someone has one laying around a garage or workshop.....

    VF SS wheels

Ok So who wants to buy 5 "900" VF17 calais rims. Car has done 18k. Like new NO gutter rash. A few scrapes inside the wheel where the numbnuts at bridgestone pulled off the balancing weights. Can't be seen once fitted to the car.
  9. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

I'd say all the rims would have 138. Once they are painted up, they would get their proper holden part number which would be stickered to the wheel and that's the number that would be referenced in the parts list.
  10. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

So Nev these would be "196"
  11. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

According to Nev, that's a casting number. See his post a bit earlier on. I learnt that today as well. I would have took it for the part number too. That would also explain why the dealer couldn't find it.

    VF SS wheels

And the award goes to..... Ahhhhhhhh. That makes so much sense.

    VF SS wheels

right! thats exactly what I want. Now is anyone able to confirm a part number. Looked at mine this arvo came up as 92507900. Still has the sticker on the spare So the numbers I have are 92507900 92285196 92274140 92274138 So I have a July 17 Calais V so I know they suit the 900's Prob caprice...

    VF SS wheels

Yeah that's what I've got. The 17 calais wheels. But too light for me. I want either the 16 Calais or 17 SS.
  16. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

Well I'm after the darker colour. I'll be selling mine once I source some if your interested. Car has only done 18k. I'm going to look at my spare today and see what I actually have
  17. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

So those photos are your car with the light rims? Interesting as they are the ones that are meant to be on my 17 calais and are much lighter
  18. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

Prob a stuff up from the dealer. Not like that has ever happened.........
  19. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

92507900 is the part number I had for the light coloured version. Maybe there is 4 variants. I've got the light version on my 17 calais V and want the wheels with darker inserts so it's closer in colour to the car which is phantom
  20. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

Anyone got some pics of the SS variant of this wheel. Some close ups maybe.
  21. KING46Calais V

    VF SS wheels

Was wondering the same thing. From my research there are 3 variants to these rims. The only difference between them being the paint colour and paint finish inside the spokes. All have a clear coated machined face

VF2 Calais wheel with Brembo 4 pot rear calipers.

Ah. That wasn't even the post I was thinking of. Never seen that so it appears the answer is yes. They must have the 48 offset like the redline wheels.
  23. KING46Calais V

VF2 Calais wheel with Brembo 4 pot rear calipers.

Yes I saw those as well. A member that hasn't been around for a few years but was only a picture of the front so don't know if he did the rears as well
  24. KING46Calais V

VF2 Calais wheel with Brembo 4 pot rear calipers.

Yes I thought this as well. I haven't seen any pictures with VFs other than Calais and Caprice with these wheels. And SS non redlline. None had factory fitted brembos
  25. KING46Calais V

VF2 Calais wheel with Brembo 4 pot rear calipers.

I hope very much that is the case. Love to hear from someone that could actually show me a picture of them in place

    Black and chrome cleaner

Bowdens have a specific item for black plastic trim. I don't recall what it's called as I have never used it but I have used many of their other products and have all been very good value for money and do the job very well. I'd say the chrome on the front is actually a piece of plastic with a...

VF2 Calais wheel with Brembo 4 pot rear calipers.

Has anyone tried fitting Brembo 4 pot REARS to a VF2 with Calais wheels? Do they fit? Heard contrary info saying only the redline wheels will fit. I know they fit the front, but not sure about the rear seeing they are a bigger rotor.

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

I've got T2 on there now standard size which will be replaced by the redline brakes shortly. When I took off the stock discs, I couldn't give them away. So to the recycling they went. And prob no point holding onto the T2s either once they get replaced.

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

I thought I would go and check mine after reading your post as I haven't looked at them for a while, and see how much I had if any. And wow wee did I have a Poo load on rhe front ones. No so much on the rear and neither front or rear set of vents painted. Might just do the top edge. It's been a...

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

Hands up who wants to be a legend and tell me how much of the top and how much of the bottom, your brembo pads don't sweep the front and rear rotors. An approximate mm would be nice. I know it will be dependant on the brand/model/ of the actual pad as well as the machined size of the rotor face...

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

I noticed the rear brembo ceramic pads and a few other brands have what appears to be anti squeal shims attached. Is everyone still putting the holden ones in as well when using pads with shims attached or leaving them out?

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

Hi Chrisp I have a brand new set with the counterweights. But don't have the calipers on the car yet. Just would like to have the correct pads ready and on hand to go straight on when the calipers do go on. Don't want to find out at install time the pads i have won't fit.
  35. KING46Calais V

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

THanks Sky. I know that the VF2 rims fit over Brembos Without the counterweights. Another member posted a picture of his car with brembos and the same rims. Won't be going to 18 or 20s thanks.

    Brembo NAO ceramic pads

Is anyone using Brembo NAO ceramic pads, (not REMSA, DBA, RDA or any other brand) with front Brembo's on VF? How is the noise, if any, and are you using the type with or without the counterweights. Did the counterweighted variety lessen noise and did they clear your rims? I want to fit them...
