it wont work. the reason is the 173 is too small for the standard 202 efi computer to work properly on. you could use a different engine management thing or a vn one with a kalmaker tune (think thats it) but you'd be better off chucking the 173 and getting a 202. it will only work for 202s...

fair enough. but the original poster wanted them on a hatchback, so he's not really carrying loads is he ;) i have no problem with pump up shocks or airbags used for load carrying etc. however, airbags on cars that are simply there to dump it as close to the ground as possible are gay.

have a look at ebay for triple carb sets, cams and extractors and all that. 6 cyl holden stuff is really cheap. if its possible swap it for a 202, then you could use standard vk injection.

i don't hate them. i had a good set of clarion 2ways a while ago which were good. my dad has 2 alpine 6x9s in a kingswood which sound bloody good, compared to standard and your average honda civic boy racer stereo they kick ass.

dunno about p/w, but why don't you want a v8? to make as much power as the 8 will take more money and you'll end up using the same amount of fuel because the v6 will be 'crankier'. plus there were v8s in vk so the swap would be easier.
