Thanks mate, good advice. It really does feel like it's plugs/points/coil packs related now. I drove it on petrol tonight and with only slight acceleration it's smooth as, but then under more load it breaks down and misfires. Codes are down to 32 and 57 now. Hopefully Sprints are open tomorrow...

Cool mate, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if the Cold mark was with engine on or off. I'm thinking you're right - not enough rather than too much. I gradually add some more while it's hot and see if I can track the mark moving :)

At a guess I'd say very old! The car has done 250,000km. What sort of money am I looking at for the sensors and is it an easy DIY job? Might change them if they aren't too expensive and see what happens... :)

Update on the situation. I couldn't find th issue so took the car to the Auto Electricians and they couldn't get the fuse to blow. With that in mind they couldn't find anything wrong. All good that the car is fixed but not so good that I don't what the problem was or whether it will do it again...

Hi all, I've replaced many brake pads on different cars over the years so was surprised yesterday when I tried on my VS wagon and failed. I can't get the brake piston to move on the left side. I was using a big G clamp and had the top of the master off etc. After spending ages on it I gave up...

All sorted! Combination of the above. Checked the lever - all good. Loosened the latch a tad and then had a mate push down on the bonnet while I pulled lever - success. A good clean and a heap of new grease and all seems sweet. Thanks guys!

So the crazy heat in Adelaide finally took it's toll and I got this checked out by an Auto Electrician. Turns out it was an $18 Relay - $53 all up with labour. Stoked. Only problem now is, as soon as I left the place my car starting running rough - backfiring on petrol and LPG and breaking down...

Sussed it! After 3 goes at giving "12", the codes spit out 44 which is showing as one of the oxygen sensors running lean. The car does seem to run a little rougher lately and the idle while on LPG has dropped a little. So now after all this time learning about codes, any ideas what's wrong that...

Because I'm still a novice I went with acrylic and the gun has a 2mm nozzle. I've used Acrylic once before and I like the "rub back and fix mistakes" concept. I think as I get more confident I'll try 2 pac/Enamel and try out a 1.8mm nozzle :)
