hello every1..

iv got a 2010 ssv ve wagon with transmission issues, when I go from park to drive it take about 3ish seconds for it to go into drive and you can here it like pushing it in 2 gear?? no grinding, im guessing like a pressure pushing sound, so I tried going to neutral first give it a bit of time and then drive and it still dose the same thing :(

will give it a oil n trans filter change this weekend, just want to know if any1 else has had this issue.

im prity harsh on the thing, blown a power steering pump from hi revs and full lock. yesterday I dropt the foot n got it wheel spinning, then it stopt started stopt, and I thort **** traction control...so wile holding me foot down the hole time switch traction control off n carried on letting here rip.

iv driven her a good 50 ishkms since yesterdays thrashing n now :( transmishion issues .

any1 else had this issue,

Take the car to a reputable Auto Transmission Specialist for a full check and service. Only realistic way to identify problem(s). Don't waste your time with a Dealer most don't have anyone on payroll qualified in Auto Trans servicing except for fluid and filter change !!

this morning shes good as gold, iv been reading some forums about the deep pan with the bigger mouth filter for the 6L80 trans.
just a q that wont go down well with most....but

has any1 opened up the mouth on a standard transmission filter to help the starvation of the flow of oil to the trans, to try help with the 6L80 trans issues ??

that's all they have done on the big mouth filter .

sweet so this morning I backed the wagon on my ramps and jacked up the front so it was level (measured by jacking points of my level garage...) and found she was a bit low on fluid. but since she hasn't had a trans change since 70thou km ill thought ill change the filter and oil...

took of the pan off and the magnet had a build up of 3-4mm of black greasey ****. but no chunks of filings or metal-apart from what i gess is broken down in the smooth feeling black greese.

pulled the filter out to assess and see if I could open it up with a bigger mouth like the chevy ones for the deeper pan...cut the bottom 0f the filter and no u cant, its not as simple as widning the opning hole, as the hole is pressed in2 a bag which cannot be extended with out not filtering the oil....I have photos but still learning how 2 upload them with this url crap??

so iv emailed [email protected] and waiting on a deep pan and a open mouth filer price as I might as well put the better filter and deeper pan on.

the oil it self looked prity clean and didn't smelt burnt :)

im guessing the 2 week wait for the parts will pay for the parts since shes not getting driven :)

After email greg going on line 2 there web site and discussing with there person who ya talk to in a talk sesaion threw there web site i still got no where. So went down 2 repco n got a filter kit. Prity stoaked as its a wide mouth filter. Got it all going and heated up the trans n xheck oil level. Topt it up with a xtra 500m once it was fill as we do for these a6 trans. N shes going good very smooth. Dropt it yesterday in first wacked it n 2nd n thort id try 3rd. Primo 3rd was a bit under load but wheels still spinning and revs climbing slowly. I stopt when i felt sorry for the tyers. At 160km wheels wer spinning when de excellrated the car dropt to 100km . Not a bad family wagon

Glad to hear you are all good now.

As I understand it, the wide mouth that comes from the US sits lower than our standard filter.

Does the wide mouth filter from REPCO sit lower? AND fit in the standard pan?

Thanks, Nick

yea mate the repco 1 is the same factory size in all dimensions, just with a wider mouth which is perfect, iv spent nights and nights looking up this filter issue.
after I gave it the new filter and topt it up with oil and ran the auto up to temp to get the oil level right I also added and xtra 500mls of trans oil, as there was so much good feedback of doing that in so many forums everywhere, the auto runs so smooth and gets a hiding. but, that issues is still there, not as bad but still there a tad...

I found on a forum some1 with the same problem, and they beleave its the seals between the valve bank and the g/box, which was only 6 bolts to remove the valve bank after I had the filter out, was ashame I didn't check, but apparently ??? some how if the oil feeds reveres and forward at the same time it can damage a seal on top of the valve bank (says the forum I read). just a
quicendence, as I did revers at the time and was still in rollback as I wacked drive n spun her up, and thort **** that started spinning fast as it was still rolling back, n she normally takes a few seconds to ingage if I try that...

but yea is 80% better at least with the sound it makes, so im just going with it for now .
