I use a few regular routes when driving and monitor instant fuel numbers, lets say a long steady climb on the motorway at a constant 100km/h that I traverse regularly. To do it properly I should actually set it at the correct rpm points that match the tuning tables. Then you need to take into consideration engine and air temps etc. I was really waiting for summer as I use warm engine and air temps as my base and then I adjust to suit cooler air.
I'm getting fairly close now, throttle response is getting great, using less throttle and the brake pedal is firm which shows good engine vacuum which the vacuum/boost gauge confirms. cruising down the motorway I'm basically seeing the same engine vacuum as I do at idle.
