Has anyone cut and sanded the locating dowel on the wheel bearing hub face (steering knuckle)? I have a spare LHF wheel bearing only but my RHS has failed. Thought either sides were interchangeable. Need it sorted urgently so would want to know whether it’s worthwhile to do. Cheers

Yes, they are interchangeable, can be used on either side, pending it’s ok,
As you don’t want to be introducing another fault with a s/h faulty unit,
But yes could be used to get you going again

Did the Allen bolt snap off ?
Very unusual, as they are high tensile bolts,
Don’t think new bolts are still available, however head to a wrecker, and buy a set for one side and replace all of them to get you by.

Okay thanks mate, the wheel studs on the RHS snapped off so have to replace the bearing. I tried lining up the bearing last night and it doesn’t work with the dowel location and ABS sensor hole unfortunately, I think only non-ABS are either sided

Ahh, that’s right, yes ABS,
Forgot about that.
Maybe head to a wrecker.

If it's just the studs, just swap out the snapped studs with the good studs....Problem solved and money kept in your pocket

Just had a go at it and can confirm ABS wheel bearings for front are one sided only, only 2 bolt holes lined up

How can you remove the studs? Grinder?

How can you remove the studs? Grinder?

Snapped ones, a small bolt on the top and hit the bolt with a hammer until they come out

The good ones, have a wheel nut flush with the top of the stud and hit the wheel nut with a hammer until they come out.
