Hi everyone
I have an oil leak but the problem is I'm not sure if its the rear main seal or the sump gasket! The oil is coming out where the sump meets the engine and where the engine/ sump meet the gearbox! If you look at it from the side it's leaking where all 3 things meet!
I'm hoping its the rear main but it's a bit confusing! Is there a way to tell what's leaking? It's leaking on both sides where all 3 meet

Place vehicle on jack stands or ramps. Remove flywheel inspection cover, if applicable. Full engine degrease and clean. Run the engine with yourself underneath to inspect location of oil leak.

Not sure, don't own one. That's why I said if applicable.

Grab yourself an inspection mirror and a decent torch so you can pinpoint the location. My pet hate is oil leaks.

What? o_O

Well then, just do the rear main seal and sump gasket at the same time. Been long enough, the longer you leave it, the worse it's going to get.

I'd also like to know the condition of the clutch friction disc too. Rear main seal leakage are no good for clutch assemblies.

To do the rear main it's gear box out, for sump gasket it's engine out! This is why I want to be a 100% sure where it's coming from

Cartons of beer, group of mates and you'll have it rolled in a weekend.

Only YOU can be sure where it's coming from, as we forum members that reply aren't physically at your location to comment.

Either bite the bullet and do one or the other, or do both, or just keep driving it.
