VE SV6 Sportwagon
Just had car tuned after installing otr, headers, high flow cats and full catback system. It's a 220k ve sv6 with an LLT (MY12).. one day after having tune driving home from work a metal on metal sound, couldn't hear it well due to listening to music and car now barely moves, like it's running on 15% of it's normal power .... originally thought cats were blocked or something but took them off and all good. There's what seems to be a loose timing chain sound when first starting up cold for about half a second before going away (sound in link below) and a further ticking when holding the car at 1.5-2k rpm. I feel like timing chains must have jumped but did think the timing issue was fixed on the LLT.... any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers

My VE v6 does the exact same **** only for a sec on cold start. Could be the oil pump pick up pipe o ring worn out that makes it lose pressure until u start it then within a sec or two noise has gone. Could also be your timing chains if its happening whilst your driving ide say its timing chains.

Get it scanned first, to see if there is any hidden DTC's.

I did get it scanned again by tuner, no faults... it can't be transmission as sound is there while in neutral and holding 1.5k+ rpm

If there is no engine light, the cam chain has not stretched or jumped.

Drain oil and replace filter. Check for any metal particles in oil or filter with a magnet.
